Our design studio was asked to prepare the concept of extending and reconstructing the sanatorium “Dzwonkówka” located in the picturesque Szczawnica, in the West Beskids. Our main inspiration was the regional architecture and the Pieniny Mountains rising up around.
To the existing architecture of the building a whole floor was added, which will be used for upgraded suites. Additionally, the guests will receive access to a spacious winter garden and an elegant restaurant.
We also designed a new facade, which will be finished with white plaster combined with natural stone on the lowest floor. Moreover, the terraces finished with natural wood were roofed and illuminated with light serving as the building’s jewelery.
On the terraces, easy-to-maintain greenery was designed, which perfectly complements the building alignment. The nearest surroundings of the building were supplemented with plants typical of mountainous areas—low shrubs, climbing ivies, and beautiful heathers.
Specially for the guests, a modern restaurant finished with high-quality wood was designed. The restaurant can be accessed through an independent entrance from the parking lot at the back of the building, as well as from the sanatorium.
